"All Dressed Up Like Me" is a series of programs that teaches about traditional clothing from around the world. Each program focuses on a particular garment. In this series, we will explore:
  • The clothing's history
  • What it is
  • The way it's made
  • How it's worn
  • Why it's worn
  • Its overall cultural and/or religious significance
This month's event focuses on hijabs, with Faleeha Hassan as the presenter. Hassan is an award-winning Iraqi writer and teacher, often referred to as "the Maya Angelou of Iraq." She wears a hijab, which is a head, face or body covering that some Muslim women wear. Along with teaching about hijabs, Hassan will read aloud two children's books that provide gentle insight on cultural differences. The program will conclude with a Q&A session.

Registration is required. Registrants will receive an email invitation within 3 hours of the event. This program will be hosted on Zoom.
