The Hello Girls

Melissa Ziobro, Specialist Director of Public History at Monmouth University, will be presenting a program on how the US Army Signal Corps employed women as telephone switchboard operators during WWI. The head "Hello Girl", Grace Banker, was from NJ! The pioneering “Hello Girls” worked long hours to ensure battlefield communications were properly received, sometimes at great personal risk.

In 1921, after the war, they fought for veteran status and that story will be the centerpiece of the lecture. Join us to hear about the battle after the battles.
